This is just a few things that were being
experimented with and are the first versions and definitely not the
last.
I wanted to see what happened if I did something
similar to the mesh-like objects but did it in acrylic but with much
larger inlayed squares. Kind of interesting. Really like
how the ends of the pieces are highlighted with dark spots. Also
would like to look further into what can be done with different colored
material as well as cutting two thin pieces, of different colors, and
then putting them together as a single thicker pices. So, yep,
experimentation. Made this as a birthday present for a friend.
The last two were experimenting with randomness. The size and the
number of planes were specified. A vertical range was given but
the height of each intersection would be randomly determined when the
program ran. There are a few other options available such as
whether the intersections are sharp and pointed or flattened (as shown
here) for various visual effects.
It wouldn't take much work to make the whole thing random, withing
certain ranges of course) and see what you get. Anyways, just the
beginnings of experimentation.
