This was one of the last times that I sat on the ocean while I was in Hawaii.  I'm sitting at the mouth of a river where I later went for a swim to wash off before the long flight to Fiji.  I often seek out a quite place and sit and look out over the ocean.  From where I sat, it was thousands of kilometers of open ocean before one would reach land.  On the cosmic scale, it's not very far.  Yet on a personal scale it's almost too big to imagine.
