After a long and oh so pleasant day of tramping,
I finally reached George Sound as sunset was approaching. It's
supposed to be a ten-hour day but I'm not sure how long it took me.
I stopped to relax, drink water, sit by the streams, gaze down
the valleys from the saddle on high, and generally took in everything I
could. I had a pretty good what lay ahead and roughly planned on
arriving later in the day. No need to hurry up so I can sit in
the hut.
The sound was gentle and smooth, the skies beautiful, and the shadows of the evening ever so pleasant. Here is a
similar picture from the first George Sound tramp.
