Biggy Acrylic Mobile...

This mobile is made of laser cut acrylic and is about ten feet (three meters) tall with stainless steel fixtures.  Took a long, long time to figure out how to best make it and the next mobile will go much quicker.  Sorry, the pictures aren't very good for this as the backgrounds distract a lot from it but there is on issue:  Where can I find an open area that just happens have a hook high above the ground?

Well, you'll get a pretty idea what it's like and maybe some day, better pictures will be forthcoming.  All told, it's about ten feet tall by eight feet wide (3m*2.5m).  In the slide show below, all pictures can be enlarged by clicking on them.

Some have asked, "Where are you going to put it?"  And the only answer is, "I have no idea.  It's too big."  But we'll figure out something.

A few notes, in picture #4, you'll see how pale the blue acrylic is.  It was so disappointing as the blue was so washed out, "What a waste of money buying this." I thought.  But it turned out interesting in that when this color rotates slightly (picture #5), the blue starts to glow like the blue in a glacier.  Picture #7 is clear acrylic with colored edges.  It's hard to catch in a photo but this also glows when turned at a slight angle.  This utilizes a crystal growth program to create the design.  Picture six uses a similar crystal growth method.

Number eight looks like it's a mini-mobile, that's exactly what it is.  Four levels of mobiles in this and they all rotate and balance independently of each other.  That piece took a lot of time to figure out how to make it work.

All these pieces are laser cut acrylic using the Flamingo software.  The pictures below are videos of it turning in the breezes.
