This mobile will have 18 diamond-shaped frames that will be about 16"x10" (40x25cm).  Seventeen are completed and pictured here.

What will make this unique is that it consist of a black and white acrylic that will be glued together and then cut.  That way, the entire mobile will be a very stark black and white frame that are rotating independently.

All of the metal work has been done for this mobile and all that remains is the last of the diamond designs.  This one will take a fair amount of machining as it will be a series of concentric diamond frames that will rotate within each other on both the vertical and horizontal axis.

Part of the machining challenge is to make the diamonds rotate with tiny ball bearings 3/16" (4.75mm) in outer diameter.  See the picture below.
